Summary
In Helena, Montana a judge ruled that assisted suicide is legal. What is assisted suicide? It is when a doctor or someone in the medical field gives a person medication or drugs that will kill them but peacefully when the person is mentally capable of giving consent to the drugs.
Opinion
I agree with Tyler Ostendorf on this controversy. If a person is in agonizing pain and terminally ill why would they want to endure that pain. I actually had this happen to a person i know. The man was handicapped and fell down the stairs then had a brain clot that was fatal. He was being kept alive by machines but could still barely talk and think. I went to visit him and he looked like he had already past on. He was capable of making the decision to pull the plug which is what him and his family decided on because he knew he was going to die and had enough of the pain.

Missing Pilot or Fleeing Criminal?
Summary
Marcus Schrenker who is a financial advisor was in a bit a trouble. He was accused of insider trading and people had just begun to find out about it so he jumped in his plane and headed to Florida. He called in and said that he was going to crash so he ejected himself landing in the everglades and sped off on his motorcycle. He was then arrested in Florida and it looked like he had attempted suicide because he had slash marks on his wrists.
Opinion
I agree with Marvin, that Schrenker gets what he deserves he took peoples money and invested it illegally making a huge profit for himself. Like Marv said he thought his plan was perfect, trying to leave the country he had it all planned out but something went wrong and he was arrested. I do not feel sorry for this guy because i think he should be spending a lot of time in the slammer which he had coming to him.

Man ‘shot my mommy,’ boy told couple
Summary
A chilling story of a young 4 year old boy tells to a couple at a rest stop. The boy said that a man came into my house without knocking and shot my mommy. Police found the body of the 29 year old mother shot to death. Apparently the boy was sexually assaulted by the man before he abandoned him at a rest stop. Also the 29 year old mother put up a fight against the intruder police said.
Opinion
This is a chilling story of a little kid who doesn't even know what has truely happened. I think the little boy is in so much shock and doesn't know any better, so he thinks his mother is coming back. The boy doesn't seem to realize what the man did. I think the man turned the little boy against his mother after he shot and killed her saying she was going to hurt you or something to that extent. Which made the boy get in the car with the man and have him sexually assault the boy then leave him.

Baby's corpse thrown out with hospital's trash
Summary
A baby that was stillborn was apparently thrown away in the trash in New Jersey. Investigators are looking in New Jersey and Pennsylvania trash for the body of the baby. Christ Hospital Spokesperson Barbra Davy says that the baby was born and died after the doctors worked on him for 20 minutes. But beyond that a funeral home person had stopped by the hospital (doesn't give details) and after the body of the baby ended up in the trash, authorities will not explain how the remains got in the trash. Also, stillborn is not considered a person under New Jersey law.
Opinion
In my opinion this kind of thing is a fluke. How does someone end up throwing away a body of a baby. Whoever was responsible for this has a lack of respect for humans and should have consequences. Or if it was an accident the person who did this should probably be fired from his or her job. What i find different is that a stillborn is not considered a person under New Jersey law so that the person who did throw the body wouldn't be charged with anything.

Ecuadorean killed in New York buried at home
Summary
Jose Oswaldo Sucuzhanay, an Ecuadorean immigrant was brutally killed near his home in Brooklyn on December 7th. Sucuzhanay was a 31 year old real estate agent. He was attacked by a group of men who shouted anti-Latino and anti-gay slurs as they kicked him and beat him with an aluminum baseball bat. He died after five days in a coma. NYC police are still looking for the three suspects. Many people in southern Ecuador have relatives in the U.S. and the attack caused a wave of fear. Lawmakers and Hispanic groups have denounced Sucuzhanay's death, recent killings have led to the call to pass new hate crime laws.
Opinion
I heard about this on the news. There has been many Hispanic killings that have taken place. I think it is due to the high unemployment in the U.S. Many Hispanics will work harder and for less and that causes frustration between the other races. It doesn't give them a right by all means to kill them, but i think that is what is causing this high tension. I think that during these economic times we should have a very strict limit on how many immigrants we allow into the United States.

Riot, hostage situation end at Texas prison
Summary
Inmates of a Western Texas detention center started a riot and set a fire in the facility on Saturday. The warden of the Reeves County Detention Center refused to comment on the riot. Teams of law enforcement officers gained control and returning the facility to prison personnel. No law enforcement personnel were injured. In an act to get better medical treatment Inmates who included immigration detainees took two prison employees hostage after starting the riot. A negotiator was called in to take inmates. Also fire crews and additional law enforcement were called to the prison facility. The prison holds more than 2,400 inmates.
Opinion
What i think that sparked this riot was the frustration of illegal immigrants being allowed into the U.S. Plus they were asking for better medical treatment makes you think of the health care in the United States for the immigrants. Gladly no one was injured. I think that the U.S. should quit housing so many immigrants in our prisons. I think it would be a good idea to send them back to their country where they can be held in prison because those kind of people are taking our tax money that could be used towards something of greater value.

Ill. governor arrested on corruption charges
summary
Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested Tuesday for trying to sell his senate seat. This was found by the FBI wiretapping. He also said that he got was trying to get his wife on corporate boards where she could earn about $150,000 on fees alone. But the governor has denied any wrongdoing. Blagojevich, 51, and Harris, 46, both from Chicago, were charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery. He was also charged with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field. And in return for this Blagojevich wanted his critics fired.
Opinion
This Governor is clearly corrupt. I think that he has some sort of addiction to money. I mean we all do to an extent. Most people want more money but when you go out of your way, break the law, corrupt your purpose in the U.S. Government, there is a problem. I don't understand why all these wealthy people are trying to get more and more money. They are so greedy and take and never give back. Which is a serious problem with our economy because the wealthy are not filtering the money back into the economy.
